I spent many days searching through the internet to find the closest place to my hometown. I found the Ras Al Hadd beach in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate in Oman. Actually, it is a world-famous breeding ground for green turtles.You may not be so much interested in the topic of my research and my speciality, studying turtles. You may go there to visit them just for fun and have different activities in your itinerary. Here, there will be some practical points for my coworkers who are sticking to indecisiveness and don&rsquo;t know whether to go or not and also for others to know more about the resorts and activities in turtle beach. I do advice you not to postpone it because I found the ins and outs of the matter! Before starting, I highly recommend you to go in couples.My wife and I rented a car in Muscat. We drove about 2.5 hours to arrive at the beach in Sur in the morning. The weather was a bit warm but we tolerated it because there was a more important intention. We got the keys and put our luggage in the reserved room. We also took some rest. The rooms prepared the ultimate relaxation; they were comfortable and built in an Omani traditional style overlooking the sea. They were equipped with AC, a refrigerator, with a private beach. There were three types of rooms: ocean view, family rooms, and non-smoking rooms. Among the property amenities, I can mention free parking, internet, and breakfast, kid-friendly activities, sun loungers, and the ability to do snorkelling.I asked local people about the least crowded place to be able to do my research without disturbing traffic. Every day, I did my research from early in the morning to noon. My wife, fortunately, has a social character and can make lots of friends in a short passage of time. During my absence, she played with children and talked to kind locals about every other subject you think! She is a fan of lying down on beach chairs, enjoying the sunlight, and talking to a friend. The second day of our travel was dedicated to walking along the beach on the sands in the afternoon and taking lots of photos with our cameras. Although there were professional photographers, we decided to do it ourselves and make a more friendly relationship with the rest of the passengers. At night, we enjoyed the silence and the sea. We made a fire and sat around with our friends to get more familiar with each other.On the third day, I finished my studies and participated in a snorkelling course. At first, it was scary because I&rsquo;d never done it before but, that was fascinating and if you&rsquo;re going to dive, I have some useful points to remember before you leave home. First of all, you should have a practice dive, ensure you have the right gear, and choose a location. Try to pick up pieces of equipment, if you have or take a budget into consideration for that: dive skin/wet suit, flotation device, booties, snorkel keeper, purge valve, and dry snorkel. After that, try to: find the perfect fit for your mask; use a baby shampoo or defogging gel to defog your mask; when needed, try to get excess water out of your mask; take deep breaths to help yourself relax.</body></html>

After seven years of not seeing each other, my brother and I packed our luggage to travel to Oman and visit our relatives there. We planned an 8-day journey to visit them and go to some attraction places together. I hate going somewhere and staying at home just talking and watching TV. My aunts are living in Muscat, and my uncles in Ad Dhahirah. Then we had a plan for two destinations.On the day 1, we arrived in Muscat but didn&rsquo;t reserve any hotel. One of my aunts came to the airport and took us to her house. I should mention that it&rsquo;s like a God-given thing when you travel somewhere, but there is no need to be stressed about your accommodation, restaurant reservations, transportation, etc. After a short break and giving their souvenirs, we got dressed and went to the Royal Opera House. Amazing! At Royal Opera House, several activities and educational programs are designed to enrich the general public and the audience about the importance of arts, music, and culture. The programs contain: seminars, pre-performance Talks, workshops, etc. Its gallery has international brands, beautiful shops, and international caf&eacute;s and dining options. It&rsquo;s the exact representation of all in one. We took some pictures and learned something about art and culture in Oman. On the second day, visiting the Currency Museum made us enthusiastic! A place dedicated to the currency and history of coins. The museum contains exhibits about minting in Oman during the Islamic and pre-Islamic periods, displays about the circulation of coins and banknotes in the Sultanate of Oman, and information about the history of cash before the period of the issuance of Saidi Rial, the first national currency of Oman. It also has exhibits of the Islamic Ashrafi. I wish I could stay more in Muscat with my aunts and cousins. I miss them. On the other hand, such an exciting and dramatic story that time is flying.We flew to Ad Dhahirah with the Oman Air local flight in the early morning of our third day of travel. In the afternoon, visiting Ibri castle was wonderful. Around 500 years ago, Nabhan Tribe built the castle, and a Sheikh completed it from the Yaqoubi Tribe in that same century. After the renovation in the early 90s, it was opened to the public. Ibri Castle includes several buildings, a mosque on the left side, which is still in use, and a cubic building on the right. Having many gates is one of the most outstanding features of the castle. Each one is called a &ldquo;Sabah&rdquo; and used for a different purpose. It has absolutely a rich history! We ate an Indian Food in Bowl Fresh restaurant. That was not bad, but the food was so spicy and caused my brother to sneeze during the whole night. We laughed a lot that night!From the beginning of the fourth day, my brother and I were swimming in the wadi Danak water. Although, you, especially as a tourist and an unfamiliar guy to the region, should pay attention to the signs and swim in not forbidden places because that&rsquo;s not a wise job to put yourself in danger and cause trouble for others. Wadi Danak is a spectacular wadi in Oman in which the water flows all year round. Then, there are lots of birds. It is 203 meters above sea level and located in Fadi town, a water tank for Shuab and Yanqul wadis. Fishing is the type of activity that you can enjoy the most in Wadi Danak. Some people sang songs, and some others clapped and danced. Now, I have ten more new friends than before from Oman and other countries!We tried to decrease our outdoor activities to spend more hours with our relatives on the remaining days. Actually, we should also consider during our journeys, specifically while staying with relatives, that they are not on behalf of getting us around; they have their plans. On day 5, we bought some souvenirs for our family from Ibri souq. We walked through the souq; it is one of Oman's largest and most prestigious souqs, located next to the Ibri Castle in Ad Dhahirah governorate. Its architectural style symbolizes the Islamic souqs, and it&rsquo;s well-known for its specialized gold and silver shops. Also, there is a large area dedicated to the animals for sale. People and sellers were too hospitable and kind. We talked to some sellers about their job in the souq and took photos. Such nice strangers! Eating lunch with Omani people in the souq is, without a doubt, one of our most remarkable memories in Oman.I felt the count down on the sixth day. It was tooo sooon to go back!Wow God! Such a lovely place was the Al Kittan Cave. The most important reason for the cave&rsquo;s uniqueness lies in its extreme luminosity, which looks like marble and earns it the name "the marble cave." Al Kittan Cave houses rock engravings and beautiful geological formations. The critical point is that the cave was not accessible easily, and a guide was needed. After lunch, we visited attraction places and spent time in Muscat. I have a younger sister, and I love her a lot. Whenever I go on a vacation, I prepare some souvenirs for her. Then, we went to Mutrah souq, also known as the darkness market, due to its narrow alleys roofed with wood. I bought her a traditional cloth of Oman; she&rsquo;s interested in these things. We tasted the Omani sweet called Halwa; that was a new delicious thing. My friend bought lots of handicrafts for her family too.We rented a car and drove to Bimmah Sinkhole on the second day. It is also known as Hawiyat Najm Park, one of the most beautiful pools. It&rsquo;s a waterfall within a cave, and its eye-catching turquoise color attracts everyone to swim and splash in it and makes them cool this way. Among its features, we can mention the surrounding rocky area formed over a long time. You can reach this place about 1.5 hours from Muscat and as locals stated, the best time to visit is at 8:00 in the morning. Swimming and talking to other passengers coming from different countries was really entertaining. Some of them suggested that we visit the city of Sur in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate. First of all, we went to Maritime Museum; we needed some time to relax and peace after doing lots of physical activities in Bimmah Sinkhole. Ok, let me tell you a bit about the Maritime Museum. If you are interested in knowing about Omanis' role in the maritime industry, I recommend you to visit this museum. It is located in Sur in Al-Aruba headquarters to preserve the tradition for future generations and see the models of Omani ships, captains and shipbuilders, instruments, maps, and manuscripts.We visited Wadi Bani Khalid on the third day in Al Sharqiyah North governorate. It is one of the most well-known wadis in Oman. Its stream maintains a constant flow of water all along the year. The course of the wadi contains large pools of water and boulders. It covers a large swathe of lowland and the Hajar Mountains. We enjoyed it sooo much; that was fantastic. Having a desert camping in Wahiba Sand Dunes was a good idea to be refreshed from the tiredness of our busy second day, calm down in the deserts' silence, and watch the fascinating sky. Without a doubt, you should try off-road in Wahiba Sand Dunes.I called our fourth day of travel the history day. My husband is interested in history, and he enjoys hearing historical stories and his knowledge of world history. So I owe my travels to his curiosity about history! We went to wilayat Al Hamra, a 400-year-old town also known as Hamra Al Abryeen in the region Ad Dakhiliyah, in northeastern Oman, which is home to many villages, including the mountainside village of Misfat Al Abryeen. The village gives a dramatic view to a tourist due to amazing agricultural terraces growing pomegranates, bananas, mangoes, papayas, citrus trees, and palm trees for their livelihood, old houses built on top of solid rocks, and beautiful alleys. The interesting point was a map of the historical part of Misfat Al Abriyeen along with information near the viewing platform, including some tips for visiting tourists. The old houses in Misfat Al Abriyeen are traditional mud houses with palm-frond roofs. However, they are unique in that they are built on solid rock foundations to provide security during the olden times.On the last day, visiting the elegant Jabreen castle was very interesting. We heard about the history of the castle and visited Imam's tomb. There were nice decorated rooms. Actually, we overheard about all these historical places because my husband talked about them all the time during our visit, poor my friend and her husband! Finally, let me finish my itinerary with a short explanation about Nizwa fort as the last visited place. Nizwa Fort castle is one of the largest, most attractive and visited national monuments in Ad Dakhiliya governorate. It is a well-known tourist destination with a historic walking area that was built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi, the second Ya&rsquo;rubi, in the 1650s, although its underlying structure is related to the 12th century. The interesting point is that it was built above an underground stream, and it took 12 years to complete. Thanks to my Omani friend, that was as good as she said, and we really enjoyed it. Also, special thanks to the &lsquo;Oman of Oman&rsquo; tourism website, which helped us estimate the budget for our 5-day travel to Oman and managed it very well. We really needed some time to spend in peace. One day, I searched through the net and found a night camping in Al Sharqiyah governorate and decided to go on a camp desert. We went on Wednesday for two nights. There were luxurious bedouin-styled tents ready to seek the ultimate desert adventure. There were sitting rooms, bedrooms equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, an en suite bathroom with amenities, a minibar, and a Tea &amp; Coffee maker. All tents had a cozy sit-out with a panoramic view of the golden Sharqiya Sands. The pleasant aroma of myrrh and frankincense took us back in time to the medieval world.Couples could choose between a deluxe tented suite containing a living room and two bedrooms or one of the attached suites great if you were traveling as two couples and intended to share a living area. We enjoyed camel riding in the desert. That was interesting and reminded us of ancient traveling times. What if my husband and I should go back to our home country with camels? It sounds like kidding! How many years does it last to arrive? OK! Anyway, dreaming is enough, guys! Among other activities that we did during these two days, I can mention dune bashing and go for a spin on a quad bike. The amazing sky at night definitely enchanted us. A universe of blinker stars; how amazing! I recommend you for sure not to miss a night camping in Al Sharqiyah. My husband and I are living in Muscat as ex-pats. We have no children and work hard to satisfy our needs during the week. We really needed some time to spend in peace. One day, I searched through the net and found a night camping in Al Sharqiyah governorate and decided to go on a camp desert. We went on Wednesday for two nights. There were luxurious bedouin-styled tents ready to seek the ultimate desert adventure. There were sitting rooms, bedrooms equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, an en suite bathroom with amenities, a minibar, and a Tea & Coffee maker. All tents had a cozy sit-out with a panoramic view of the golden Sharqiya Sands. The pleasant aroma of myrrh and frankincense took us back in time to the medieval world.Couples could choose between a deluxe tented suite containing a living room and two bedrooms or one of the attached suites great if you were traveling as two couples and intended to share a living area. For the first two days, we stayed in Muscat. We decided to fly to Muscat to maximize our time in Oman. An airport taxi took us to our hotel.On the first day in the hotel, we took a rest and appreciated the change in culture and climate and enjoyed the excellent amenities at the hotel.On the first day in the hotel, we took a rest and appreciated the change in culture and climate and enjoyed the excellent amenities at the hotel.On the second day, we went through Muscat, a modern wonder where today&rsquo;s hustle and bustle meet history and tradition. It is a coastal city with a mixture of Arabic architecture with vibrant African influences. We went into its buzzing streets and experienced the hospitality of one of the Middle East's friendliest nations. Be sure to visit the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Sultan Qaboos Mosque is a beautiful mosque with extraordinary architecture with buildings such as The Taj Mahal and the Abu Dhabi Mosque. We went there on Saturday so it was very crowded and there were a lot of cruise ship passengers. Although it was crowded, it was a really peaceful place. There is rental headwear for women outside if they do not have their own. The Sultan Qaboos grand mosque is a must-visit. It's a masterpiece of art, amazing architecture and marble carvings.&nbsp;<img src="https://www.uplooder.net/img/image/63/327ca8ac6117be58b517b2802b0dd5e6/Picture1.png" alt="" style="max-width: 100%; min-width: 60%" />&nbsp;After that, we discovered Omani antiquities in the Bait Al Zubair museum. The museum is small but fascinating and highlights the daily life in Old Oman, and displays unique exhibits. The Zubair family founded it, and now it houses one of the most permanent art collections in the country with its growing collection; Bait al Zubair also serves as an actual window on Oman&rsquo;s rich heritage and culture. It received His Majesty Sultan Qaboos&rsquo; Award for Architectural Excellence in 1999, the first time it was awarded in Oman. You will taste the best cappuccino in town (in the mug!!) at the caf&eacute; in the garden.As the day ends, walk along the corniche to the Muttrah Souq and haggle like a local for some excellent bargains. It is at least 200 years old and made up of a complex maze of narrow walkways leading to hundreds of small shops that sell everything. You can visit or buy souvenirs here. My family and I decided to visit the souq and take some photos. Also, we talked to sellers in English about different things, which was interesting. We also learned some Omani phrases, which was a good point. There are lots of things you can prepare as souvenirs for your friends and relatives, such as Omani khanjar, halwa, frankincense, kummahs, and spices. Although we were interested in staying more and visiting the city, we returned to the hotel at 2:00 AM.<img src="https://www.uplooder.net/img/image/15/eb40563b804302cc4616bb4ab5f23c86/Picture2.jpg" alt="" style="max-width: 100%; min-width: 60%" />On the third day, we flew down to the subtropical city of Salalah in Dhofar governorate. It is surrounded by turquoise seas and is a vibrant and verdant area of Oman. This area is much similar in climate and character to East Africa, a wonderful oasis for different kinds of livestock and camels. We spent time on the beautiful beaches and enjoyed the local hospitality. For the next two nights, our hotel was located on a white-sand beach, which was a perfect place for relaxing and exploring the area. We also visited one of the hot springs in Dhofar governorate; swimming was cool and made us refreshed after a busy travel plan.
