Ash Sharqiyah North

Al Sharqiyah North governorate (with a total population of 271,800) occupies an area of 21,136 km² and consists of six provinces: Al-Qabil (population 23,824), Al- Mudhaibi (117,691), Bidiya (40,812), Dema Wa Thaieen (26,817), Ibra (57,561), Wadi Bani Khalid (12,518). It was created on October 2011, when Al Sharqiyah Region was split into Al Sharqiyah South Governorate and Al Sharqiyah North Governorate. Ibra is the center of the governorate.

Al Mudayrib Village, Wadi Bani Khalid, Ibra Wednesday Market, Al Mintarib Tuesday Market, Sinaw Thursday Market, Abu Habban Cave, Muqal Cave, and Ash Sharqiyah Sands Desert are the most well-known attractions in the governorate. You can enjoy the rooms of Al Mudayrib Village in local ceremonies; the constant flow of water all along the year in Wadi Bani Khalid; the women-dedicated Ibra Wednesday Market every Wednesday; find swords, daggers, textiles, palm leave goods, gold and silver, agricultural meat and fish products, and handicrafts made by Badiya villagers in Al Mintarib Tuesday Market; find handicrafts and livestock in crowded Sinaw Thursday Market; visit the colorful rock formations in Abu Habban Cave; enjoy famous water pools and beautiful formations and hear the roar of underground water flowing through the hard rocks in the Muqal Cave; do some activities like sand skiing, sand-duning, camel and horse racing, sunset watching in Al Sharqiyah Sands Desert.
