Al Sawadi Beach at Baraka in Al Batina South Governorate is about 70 km away from Muscat and is characterized by beautiful rock islands. There are several aquatic sports on the beach with all the necessary equipment.

Wadi Bani Kharus is located in Wilayat AlAwabi of Al Batina South governorate. Among the most tourist-attractive features of this wadi, we can mention the fabulous sceneries, amazing flora and fauna, and pleasant breeze. The type of activities that you can enjoy in this area are going to the mountains of Stal village, spending interesting hours in the market gardens of Sana village, and visiting the ancient aqueduct in Ain Karfas

Al Hazm fort, one of the most beautiful Omani forts, is located in Wilayat Ar Rustaq in Al Batinah South Governorate. It was renovated and restored and changed into a high potential tourism attraction due to its unique architecture and solid defense features. It is open from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM every day except on Fridays. You can visit al Hazm Fort from 8:00 AM – 11:00 PM on Fridays.

Nakhal Fort also known as Husn Al Heem, is located in Wilayat Nakhal in Wadi Raqeem of Al Batina South Governorate. It is 120 km away from the west of Muscat. You can enjoy the scenic view due to the several palm trees surrounding it. The Ministry of Tourism operated a museum in the fort which represents historic guns.

Alkasfah hot spring is located in Wilayat Ar Rustaq of Al Batinah South Governorate and is about 170 km away from Muscat. It is believed that the hot spring has a mountainous source. The temperature varies in different hot springs; about 45 degrees in Al Kasfah. There are some beneficial properties such as treating Rheumatism and skin diseases due to the high level of Sulfat content. As for other features of this hot spring, we can mention PH 7.62, Calcium 100.40, and Magnesium 25.73.

Khawr AlBatah Lagoon, the largest lagoon in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, extends about 3 kilometers and has an important role for fishing vessels and commercial ports where various types of ships anchor.

Muscat Gate Museum is located on Al Saidiya Street in Old Muscat and above the Muscat Modern Gate. It was opened in 2001 and tells the Omani history from the Neolithic times to the present. It has special exhibits on Muscat water springs, ancient wells, underground channels, houses, souqs, mosques, harbours, and forts.

Al Fiqayn fort is located in Wilayat Manah and adjacent to Nizwa in Ad Dakhiliya governorate and 160 km away from Muscat. The fort has four storeys and visitors can see surrounding farms and old quarters.

Khor Ruri is the largest reserve in the Dhofar Governorate of Oman. It contains the Khawr Ruri, also known as Samharah, which is an important and attractive place for tourists. There are important ruins dating back to ancient times. The Khawr had an essential role in importing frankincense during the past time. It has a special status not only as a nature reserve but also as an important heritage reserve. There are lots of fish, birds, and plants living there which help the biological balance.

Ash Sharqiyah sands, also called Wahiba Sands, contain several oases with different characteristics such as Al Raka, Shahik, Al Hawiyah, and Al Aidan oases. They are surrounded by sand dunes, some of them contain some trees and golden sands which form a greenery peninsula. Here, you can meet the true life of local Beduins, watch the amazing sunset, and see the camels. There are some camps to stay in and pay attention that the weather is too hot to go in June and July. You can enjoy doing some activities like sand skiing, sand-duning, camel and horse racing, as well.
