Khor Ruri Lagoon

Khor Ruri is the largest reserve in the Dhofar Governorate of Oman. It contains the Khawr Ruri, also known as Samharah, which is an important and attractive place for tourists. There are important ruins dating back to ancient times. The Khawr had an essential role in importing frankincense during the past time. It has a special status not only as a nature reserve but also as an important heritage reserve. There are lots of fish, birds, and plants living there which help the biological balance.
