Sohar handicrafts souq is located near Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Al Hijra region. Its style represents Arab-Islamic architecture. There is a vast area, about 7000 square meters dedicated to craft shops. You can find lots of Omani local industries and handicrafts such as cotton textiles, wool, silver, gold, natural medicines, honey, perfumes, leather, ceramics, traditional weapons, and Halwa which is an Omani sweet

Sohar Handicrafts Souq

Sohar Fort is located in Ad Dhahirah Governorate and has a differing factor rather than the rest of the forts which is its completely white color. The building of this fort dates back to the 13th century. There is a small museum in its largest tower which represents the local history. The interesting factor is the existence of a 10 km tunnel used as an escape route in some situations.

The large white sand dunes surpassing the Khaluf village are called as Sugar Dunes, along the breathtaking beach coast near Al Khaluf Caves with a spectacular scenery. It’s a magnificent camping spot to watch the sky full of stars in between the ocean and sugar white dunes

Ash Sharqiyah sands, also called Wahiba Sands, contain several oases with different characteristics such as Al Raka, Shahik, Al Hawiyah, and Al Aidan oases. They are surrounded by sand dunes, some of them contain some trees and golden sands which form a greenery peninsula. Here, you can meet the true life of local Beduins, watch the amazing sunset, and see the camels. There are some camps to stay in and pay attention that the weather is too hot to go in June and July. You can enjoy doing some activities like sand skiing, sand-duning, camel and horse racing, as well.

It is also known for its handicrafts such as new apparel, shoes, traditional cloth, spices, Halwa (Omani sweet), etc
