Muscat, Oman’s port capital and surrounded by mountains and deserts, occupies an area of about 3,500 km² with a total population of 1,302,509 and consists of six provinces: Al Amarat (70,000 population), Bawshar (383,257), Muscat (Old Town), Muttrah (234,226), Qurayyat (63,133), Al Seeb (470,878).

Royal Opera House, the Currency Museum, Bimmah Sinkhole Wadi, Wadi Al Arbaeen, Mutrah Souq, Natural History Museum, Bandar Khayran Reserve Lagoon, Wadi Al Khoud, Bawshar Sands Desert, Al Bustan Beach, and Mutrah Corniche Beach are among the must-visit attractions in the Capital city of Oman. Muscat has a hot, arid climate with long and very hot summers (with temperatures reaching as high as 49 °C or 120 °F) and warm winters. November to February is the best time to visit Muscat as the temperatures are moderate and pleasant, making it easy to move around. Participating in educational programs of the Royal Opera House, swimming in eye- catching turquoise color waterfalls, dipping into freshwater of wadis and going on a picnic with your family, shopping in the souqs, boating and enjoying dolphins accompany, and climbing up sand dunes are the most memorable activities to do.
