Bahla souq, as part of the Bahla Oasis, can be considered a destination that allows you to travel in time and go to the past. The souq has about 142 shops with a varying range of products. Although it’s an old souq, some of its markets have been renovated, recently. Based on residents’ claims “this souq is our cultural heritage. Its story has been passed down from era to era”.

Sohar handicrafts souq is located near Sultan Qaboos Mosque in Al Hijra region. Its style represents Arab-Islamic architecture. There is a vast area, about 7000 square meters dedicated to craft shops. Khasab Fort Oman is located in Khasab, Musandam. It was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century around an older circular tower, this well-preserved fort now is one of the best little ethnographic museums in Oman.

A traditional souq next to the Nizwa Fort is called Nizwa Souq. Its buildings represent both traditional and modern architecture. The best time to visit is from Thursday to Saturday 6 AM-13 PM, 16 PM-10 PM; except on Fridays when it’s open only in the morning. They have a rest and a time for praying from 13 PM to 16 PM. You can find some local industries like handicrafts, daggers, copper, spinning, etc

The Jabreen castle (also known as Jabrin) is an impressive castle located in Bahlat near the Jabal Akhdar mountains and Nizwa in Northeastern Oman. This place was built by Yaruba Imam Bil’arab bin Sultan. There is an audio guide of about 25 minutes provided at the entrance of this attraction which you can listen to. Bahla Fort is located in Bahla town which is 40 km away from Nizwa. It dates back to the 13th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort enjoys Islamic architecture and there are paintings on its ceiling with wooden inscriptions. The average temperature in Bahla is summarized as below:

Jebel Shams is located in the north of Al Hamra in northeastern Oman. The name comes from the reason that it has a high peak which leads to receiving the sunlight sooner than the rest of places. It has the most height in the Hajar range and the whole country. It is about 240 km away from Muscat. The temperature in summer is about 20 °C and it decreases to less than 0 °C in winter. Jebel Shams also enjoys the accompanying the spectacular Al Nakhur canyon which is also called Grand Canyon.

Ash Sharqiyah sands, also called Wahiba Sands, contain several oases with different characteristics such as Al Raka, Shahik, Al Hawiyah, and Al Aidan oases. They are surrounded by sand dunes, some of them contain some trees and golden sands which form a greenery peninsula. Here, you can meet the true life of local Beduins, watch the amazing sunset, and see the camels. There are some camps to stay in and pay attention that the weather is too hot to go in June and July. You can enjoy doing some activities like sand skiing, sand-duning, camel and horse racing, as well.

Nizwa Fort castle is one of the largest, most attractive and visited national monuments in Ad Dakhiliya governorate. It is a well-known tourist destination with a historic walking area which was built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya'rubi, the second Ya’rubi, in the 1650s, although its underlying structure is related to 12th century. The interesting point is that it was built above an underground stream and it took 12 years to complete

The Jebel Akhdar is part of Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliya governorate of Oman. It rises to a height of 2,980 m (9,780 ft) and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 m above sea level. Jebel Akhdar has lots of labyrinth  wadis and it is popular for its mild Mediterranean climate which causes the grow of pomegranates, apricots and roses in abundance. There have been several rock art sites discovered and studied which goes back to 6000 years ago

Grand Canyon also known as Al Nakhur Canyon is located in Alkhitaym to Sab Bani Khamis village. There are eye-catching hiking trails and climbing up the mountain takes around 1 hour. You can go on a tour or drive up to the canyon.
